A rare collection of works by the 20th Century Dutch fauvist/neo-impressionist Kees Van Dongen includes works created personally for his close friend Anita Loos, the great American author of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. One work is particularly intriguing; a seasons greetings letter that includes a wax crayon/watercolor self portrait of Van Dongen as Father Christmas, serenading Ms. Loos (lower left in green coat) with his guitar. There are three other Van Dongen works included in the sale, plus art by Braque, Rouault, Bohrod, Beaton and more. The sale also includes Furniture, Bronzes, China, Sterling Silver, Jewelery, Pottery, Clocks, Rugs, and much more.
